Testing Legionella in Water
AEL performs testing for Legionella in Potable and Non-potable water. Legionella occurs naturally in freshwater such as lakes and streams. It can become a health concern when it grows and spreads in building water systems. Keeping Legionella out of water systems is important to preventing infection. As of 6/2/17 CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services sent out a memo requiring all Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals and Long-Term Care facilities to have potable water tested and water management plans that meet ASHRAE standards to reduce the risk of Legionella. AEL offers confirmed L pneumophila culture results in 7 days.
